Give your dog the perfect blend of activity and comfort with Wag n’ Waves Day-care.
We offer more than just dog sitting; it’s a full day of enrichment, exercise, and relaxation tailored to your dog’s needs, all delivered by very experienced handlers, who are also qualified in Animal First Aid.
Their day includes two invigorating one-hour walks exploring local green spaces or private hire fields, fun sessions in our dedicated Soft Play Zone, and stimulating mental enrichment games.
Rest is equally important during a day-care day so when it’s time to recharge, they can unwind in our specially designed, quiet 'Recharge Zone' for essential rest.
For owners looking to level up their dog's day, you can easily add an extra splash of fun with an optional swimming session in our purpose-built pool or book a training session with our expert trainer Katie.
Day-care for the full day is open to dogs 12 months and over, puppies can come for introduction sessions from 12 weeks.
All dogs will be required to be fully vaccinated and up to date with worm and flea treatments.
We are registered with Liverpool city council - Licence number LCC/AAL78
Why Puppies Need Shorter Daycare Sessions
We welcome pups to come to day-care but recommend starting them with a short session of an hour and gradually building up to a maximum of a half-day until they are between 6 to 12 months old, depending on breed and behaviour.
This graduated approach is essential for two key reasons:
Behaviour & Socialisation: The world is brand new, and too much stimulation can be overwhelming for a young puppy. Long days can lead to over-stimulation, which doesn't teach good social manners—it just teaches them to be over-excited or, conversely, anxious and overwhelmed (like an overtired toddler!). Shorter visits in a controlled setting allow your pup to have positive, meaningful social experiences without getting frazzled, helping them grow into a calm, confident dog.
Health & Development: Puppies need a huge amount of rest—up to 18-20 hours of sleep per day—for healthy brain and physical development. A full-day of constant activity, even with structured breaks, is too physically exhausting. It can impact their immune system, stress levels, and ability to learn. A half-day maximises the fun while ensuring they still get the vital rest they need back home.
In short: Short sessions mean quality play, not burnout, setting them up for a lifetime of happy and well-adjusted social skills!
